A short Word of Advice

ALL FUTURE ENTREPRENEURS SHOULD JOIN THEIR SCHOOLS FBLA OR DECA PROGRAMS.

IF YOU CAN JOIN BOTH. FBLA IS FUTURE BUSINESS LEADERS OF AMERICA AND DECA IS THE MARKETING PROGRAM. I MYSELF WAS APART OF DECA WHICH GAVE ME A LOT OF INFO ON MARKETING AND BUSINESS.

SORRY FOR THE ALL CAPS BUT THIS IS A MUST DO1!!!

  1. NFTE National Foundation for Teaching Entrepreneurship is also offered in low income schools: http://www.nfte.com

All these programs certainly help and are great especially in understanding business terms and how it works along with the networking/mentoring aspect but understand that they do not determine whether or not you will be successful in business or if you have a viable business idea.

Not everyone will be at a school that offers these programs. So if not, also search for a local Small Business Development Center (through the SBA) which offers free business counseling services. Or you can simply ask a business person whom you respect and look up to if they would mind helping you get your business going. Most times they are happy to help a young person who has a business mind.
